Our clients wanted to live differently in this home. They wanted spaces they could breathe in. Spaces that would draw pause and introspection.
Spaces with fewer, but better things.
We set about listening to their ideals, distilling their thoughts. This meant a reduction of everything. Minimising details, visual clutter and noise. Composing tranquility that was to be noticed and felt instantly.
One less dead knot in the timber. One less cabinet pull. One less chair leg. One less object. One less visual interruption. One less layer of noise…one less of everything.
Almost a decade on since its conception, this home still feels as fresh to me as ever. Perhaps that is the true beauty of restraint in design- not so much in knowing what to add, but nonchalantly understanding what is best removed.
